Office Diagnostics is a diagnostics utility included in Microsoft Office 2007. The program installs itself when you install Microsoft Office 2007, and can perform a series of diagnostic tests to help you discover why your computer is crashing, in case this abnormal behavior is caused by problems in your Microsoft Office installation. Office Diagnostics will run 5 different diagnostics: Known Solutions, Memory Diagnostic, Compatibility Diagnostic, Disk Diagnostic and Setup Diagnostic. After pressing the "Continue" button, the program will run the 5 diagnostics, showing you the progress in a bar below each title. Once it has finished the scanning, it will inform you about the found problems, and will suggest you the steps you should take to fix them, opening a page in Microsoft´s web site. If nothing is found, the same page will open, showing no suggestions. This program records some information about your system, but Microsoft says that this information is kept in your system, and that they use that information for nothing more than fixing the problems your Office may have. |
